The
Band was started as a result of the Neshaminy
Adult Education Program. It is the second band
to be formed as a result of this program. The
first being the Bucks Caledonian Pipe Band of
Washington Crossing. The program was started by
Pipe Major/Instructor Gary Guth. The Band's first
engagement was the Norwood, PA 4th of July Parade
in 2002. Since then the Band has performed regularly
at community events such as Newtown's "Welcome
Day", "Northampton Day", Ivyland's
"Peach Festival", both the Upper and
Lower Southampton 4th of July Parades.
Here is a Pictorial History Of The Band
The Band started out as a quartet: Ray Humphrey,
Stacy Lewis, Chris Lewis & PM Gary Guth.
Then we added
some drummers: Matt Lewis & Ryan Guth.
Our first parade was in Norwood, PA on July
4th 2002. Above is a picture of us in the 4th
of July parade in Feasterville, PA 2003.
After the parade in Feasterville, PA on July 4th 2002, we
took this picture: PM Gary Guth, Ray Humphrey,
Greg Yagolnitzer, Matt Lewis, Ryan Guth, Stacy
Lewis, Jim Bryson, and Chris Lewis.
We were invited to play at
Welcome Day Newtown, in the spring of 2004.
Those that could make it, did. Jim Bryson, Ryan
Guth, PM Gary Guth, Alan Gommel, and Ray Humphrey.
Every year since 2002 we play for the Ivyland
Presbyterian Church at their Peach Festival.
This is us playing in August of 2004. Sal DiPaolo
wasn't busy so we borrowed him to play the Bass
Drum in his casual duds.
New
Years Eve 2004-05 we played in our Jester Hats
for the First Night Activities in Newtown, PA.
As you can see, we moved the Bass Drum around.
Ryan Guth was playing with us that night.
We are playing for our new
sponsor "The Falls Township Fire Company
from Falsington, PA for the Bucks County Fire
Parade, held in Richland town, PA in Early June
of 2005.
Our last gig was playing in the Upper and Lower
Southampton 4th of July Parades this summer
of 2005.
