You’re invited to join us on Saturday, April 19th, 2008 for a day of  “Bagpipe Education and Motivation” with Bruce Gandy, a world renowned bagpipe performer and teacher. 

 Designed for both teachers and their students, the event will begin with a Seminar that stresses the skills to become a successful solo/band player and competitor.  Such topics may include, “tone and tuning”, “rhythmic skills”, “melodic line phrasing”, and “bagpipe maintenance”,

 The day continues with a Master Class, where attendees can observe Bruce as he works with a variety of volunteers at different levels.  (If you’d like to be one of these volunteers,  please indicate your interest when buying your tickets.  Participants will be chosen at random from the list of volunteers.)  

 After dinner, Bruce will present a Recital, which will include a variety of repertoire from Piobreachd to retreats. 

 Bruce's accomplishments include:

Playing with the City of Victoria Pipe Band (Grade 1) under James W. Troy 1974 - 1982 (6th in the Worlds in 1979). Member of the 78th Fraser Highlanders 1982 - 1997, as P/S 1995 - 1997 (World Champions 1987). He worked as a full time Piping instructor since 1997 and has taught students across North America, as well as Scotland and Italy. He has  won the gold Medal at both Inverness and the Argyllshire gathering as well as the Bratach Gorm at London and is one of only two Canadians to win both the March and Strathspey and Reel event at both Oban and Inverness. His students have been featured in all the major Amateur prize lists in Canada and Scotland. Some of his students are now winning major events at the top open levels.

This all happens at :  The Edith Memorial Chapel at The Lawrenceville School, Route 206  Lawrenceville, PA  08648 on Saturday, April 19th, 2008. 

The first session starts at 1pm.
